What is Early Childhood Court?

A child welfare problem-solving court serving children aged 0-3 & their families.
  • parents/caregivers & child(ren) 0-3
  • a judge or magistrate
  • ECC Program Coordinator
  • infant mental health specialist
  • attorneys
  • guardian ad litem representatives
  • dependency case manager
  • other service providers

The ECC Team is able to access more resources because of the knowledge each member contributes.

Parents and caregivers benefit from frequent communication among the team.

What to Expect in ECC

  • Monthly Family Team Meetings
    Parents and caregivers meet with the multidisciplinary team to address the needs of the children and parents.
  • Monthly Hearings
    The judge or magistrate hears the case monthly, which leads to swifter progress towards case goals.
  • Timely Services
    Participants receive an evidence-based intervention to improve attachment and caregiving capabilities.
