FAQ's For Parents of Defendants
How will I know if my child is approved for Teen Court?
On the day of the arraignment you will meet with Court staff who will inform you of your options and if your child has been recommended to Teen Court by the referring entity (usually the State Attorney).
What happens next?
You will meet with the Case Coordinator who will talk with you and your child about the program in depth. If you choose to accept the Teen Court option an intake interview will be scheduled for a later date.
How can I check on the progress of my childs case?
You may contact the Case Coordinator at any time to check on the status of the case. It is, however, your childs responsibility to actively participate in the program by attending the mandated sessions, tracking their own community service hours and submitting any other required documents to the Case Coordinator.
