Civil Process Servers

***** NOTICE *****

New applicants and current Certified Process Servers who wish to renew their certification for 2019-2020 shall turn in all required documentation and fees to the Leon County Courthouse, Office of Court Administration, Room 225, on or before February 28, 2019.

The Process Server Seminar and Exam will be held Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 1:30p.m. in Leon County Courthouse, Office of Court Administration, Room 225. You will not be permitted to sit for the exam unless all required documents and fees have been turned in by the above deadline.

Admin Order 2015-06 in re: Certification and Regulation of Civil Process Servers outlines the policies and procedures for the certification and regulation of civil process servers in the Second Judicial Circuit.

Following are the requirements for placement on the approved list of Certified Civil Process Servers for the Second Judicial Circuit:

  1. A completed application.
  2. A surety bond of $5,000. (Minimum)
  3. Sheriff's advisory letters from each of the six (6) county Sheriffs (included in the application).
  4. Submit to a background investigation, at the applicant's expense, which shall include any criminal record of the applicant as evidenced by a certified copy of such fingerprint based criminal record from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement - State of Florida background search.
